Catholic Studies Electives for College Credit

Through a partnership between St. Thomas More University Parish and Christendom College, our college students are able to take part in for credit courses on the Catholic tradition. These undergraduate elective courses are offered through the Christendom Graduate School of Theology. Course credit is awarded by Christendom College and students may then apply for transfer credit at BGSU. Additional fees apply. Partial scholarships are available on a limited basis from St. Thomas More.

SPRING 2021 COURSE

HIST 501: Early Christian Literature

Listen to the voices of more than a dozen different Fathers of the Church spanning different cultural and linguistic contexts from Africa and Europe to the Ancient Near East. Students will learn about the lives, conceptual themes, and historical events that shaped the development of Christian writings in the first six centuries. 3 credits

Virtual Class: Mondays from 6:00-8:00pm

HIST 504: Catholicism and Modernity: From Vatican I to John Paul II 

Virtual Class: Mondays from 5:00-7:00pm

Courses assume no prior experience. Students from any field of study are welcome.

Students who complete 15 credits with Christendom@ are eligible to receive a pre graduate Certificate in Catholic Thought and Culture from Christendom. Additionally, they may go on to pursue an accelerated MA at Christendom Graduate School.

Financial Peace University 

Taught by Dave Ramsey and his team, Financial Peace University (FPU) teaches a virtue based approach to finances. Rooted in the Bible and timeless, common-sense wisdom, participants will learn how to pay off debt, effectively use a budget, save money for the future, and give generously. FPU is offered annually here at St. Thomas More.

Natural Family Planning 

Natural Family Planning (NFP) is fertility awareness which empowers married couples to effectively achieve or postpone pregnancy according to God's plan for marriage and family life. NFP classes are available in Bowling Green either in individual or small group settings for engaged couples preparing for Holy Matrimony as well as those who are already married.

The Couple to Couple League teaches the Sympto-Thermal method of Natural Family Planning. Learn more about the Couple to Couple League's chosen method of NFP at CCLI.org
