HOLY HOUR WITH THE BISHOP
On Tuesday, September 1, Bishop Daniel Thomas called on all of the faithful in the Diocese of Toledo to pray and fast for the healing of the wounds of racism. Each parish in the diocese was requested to hold a Holy Hour of prayer for that intention, and Bishop Thomas himself chose to preside at the hour of prayer here at St. Thomas More. Many students, permanent community members, and some neighbors from St. Aloysius parish filled the church to beg the Lord to change minds and heal hearts afflicted by the scourge of racism. As our Lord himself said, “If two of you agree on earth about anything for which they are to pray, it shall be granted to them by my heavenly Father” (Mt 18:19). May God hear our prayers for an increase in respect for the dignity of every human person.
